A place that has attracted walkers, climbers and artistes alike is the mountain range known as the Cuillins and which are located on the Isle of Skye. The range itself is actually divided up into two peaks the red and black one. You have the choice of just being able to take in the views from atop the range or spend two days hiking across them.
However, if you want to take things at a more leisurely pace then book a ticket on the West Highland Railway, which will carry you to the town of Mallaig. Whilst on the train you will pass by the highest mountain in Scotland (Ben Nevis) as well as Morar Loch (the deepest in Scotland). Plus during the journey, you will pass by the Caledonian Canal, which is the longest in all of Britain today. The actually journey is over 164 miles long but is well worth the time spent on it.
